Want to Quit Smoking?
Auricular Acupuncture can help!
If you are trying to quit smoking, Auricular Acupuncture is a natural way to help you curb your craving for nicotine.
Auricular Acupuncture can offer relief, especially in the acute phase of withdrawal when you're wrestling with fatigue, irritability and gnawing cravings.
Some people try this treatment because they cannot tolerate the drugs used for tobacco cessation.. Unlike prescription medications, acupuncture has no side effects. In fact, it is very common to notice side benefits like improvements in sleep or mood.
The NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification association) five-point ear acupuncture protocol is used successfully in UK drug rehabilitation clinics. It been shown to decrease significantly:
Cravings for alcohol and drugs eg. nicotine, methadone, cocaine
Inpatient detoxification admissions
Anxiety, insomnia and agitation
What happens when I go for a treatment?
First I will advise patients to be tobacco-free for at least 24hours before their first session.
On the session, the needles will be insert in the five-points of each ear for around 30mins. After the session an acupressure ear seed will be inserted in one of the ears in the target aerea to help the patient till the next session, this involves placing tiny ball on the ear with adhesive tape.
How many treatments will I need?
The treatment will start with 4 sessions, two times a week, after this initial 4 sessions the focus becomes wellness, then the treatment will go for 4 sessions once a week as withdrawal symptons fade. Diferential diagnosis and constitutional work is appropriate. After I recommend monthly treatments for 4 to 6 months.
1 session: £45
4 sessions: £165
8 sessions: £300
